Peterborough homeowners have until March 31, 2027 to take advantage of the Peterborough attic insulation rebate. Enbridge Gas announced the extension on October 27, 2026, pushing back the earlier November 30, 2026 end date for Ontario’s Home Renovation Savings Program and its standalone attic stream.
What the Rebate Pays
You can get back half of your attic insulation cost after tax, to a maximum of $1,250 for a standard attic. Flat roofs and cathedral ceilings qualify for up to $750. Unlike the program’s multi-measure path, the attic stream skips the home energy assessment.
Older Homes, Big Opportunity
Many homes in The Avenues and East City were built long before today’s insulation standards. Over the decades, older insulation can compact and leave gaps, letting heat escape through the roof.
Check Your Eligibility
To qualify, your current attic insulation must be below the program’s R-value thresholds, and the finished upgrade must reach R-50 or higher. A participating contractor has to complete the job, and homes that previously received an attic rebate from Enbridge, Save on Energy or another Ontario program are excluded. The quick attic insulation eligibility quiz can help you find out.
