Blown-In Attic Insulation
Machine-blown loose-fill that fills every gap and joist bay batts can’t reach. We blow directly over clean existing insulation — the R-values add together.
- Cellulose blown-in — made from recycled paper, denser, roughly R-3.4 to R-3.8 per inch, and better at slowing air movement through the attic. The stronger performer per inch.
- Fibreglass blown-in — spun glass fibres, lighter, roughly R-2.7 to R-3.0 per inch. Typically the more cost-effective option and rebate-eligible.
Spray Foam Insulation
Two components mix at the gun tip and expand on contact, sealing the cavity and stopping air leakage — not just slowing it. We install Insulthane Extreme by Elastochem, and you don’t need to leave your home during installation.
- ½ lb low-density (open-cell) — flexible, high expansion, roughly R-3.5 to R-3.8 per inch. Best for interior walls, sound dampening, and air sealing.
- 2 lb high-density (closed-cell) — rigid, roughly R-6.0 to R-7.0 per inch, and acts as its own vapour barrier at sufficient thickness. Best for Peterborough basements, crawlspaces, rim joists, and the cold room above the garage.
